Dear Sisters in Christ, Lydia Circle,
June was a great month for WELCA members! On June 2nd we volunteered to provide lunch for the volunteers at Habitat for Humanity, and were actually able to see the work in progress. The organization alone of this project is immense, with contributions on all levels, from big businesses to real estate to local providers of materials and tools to boots on the ground talented volunteers. Funds for the lunch were provided by Thrivent, applied for in WELCA’s name by Helen Hauser. Five of our ladies served: Helen, Barbara Rodberg, Christine Gift, Lin Gunnet, and Joanne Keithley.
There was a total of 20 Habitat volunteers, 3 from Grace, with numerous local churches involved. Pete Hauser, Charles Breeding and Tommy Oates were the Grace volunteers. The land provided was from a real estate purchase in south eastern Raleigh, which represents a small percentage of the total buy. We can look forward to a few future projects of this nature.
Please see the WELCA Summer News for details of the New Hope Valley Ride and Museum Tour, to take place on Wednesday, July 11th, at 10:30 AM. At the same time, read details of the tour of the Food Bank Tour and Lunch, on Monday, July 16th, from 11:00 AM to 2:30 PM.

Things to Ponder
Have you thought any further about the proposed change to the timeframe of the WELCA meeting? Daytime meetings would work better for an increasing number of members, driving at night being more and more of an issue. Those members or interested parties who are employed still need to deal with availability in the daytime. Your opinion and concerns are sought.
