Dear Sisters in Christ, Lydia Circle,
It’s definitely happening this Saturday, April 21st! The Triangle Conference of NCWELCA is holding its spring gathering at our church! What a wonderful opportunity for friendship and sharing with women from other churches in the area. Maybe you have a Lutheran friend you’d like to bring? Registration is still open, and you can always pay your $8.00 at the door.
The study, with Pastor Marissa Krey from Lutheran Services of the Carolinas, will be on increasing our understanding of women from other cultures, and is entitled, “Called to be Global Sisters, Seeing Each Other with New Eyes”.
Our monthly luncheons are being held on the last Monday in the month. This month it takes place at Chai Asian Bistro, 8347 Creedmoor Rd., Raleigh, 27613. Hope you can join us; the sign-up sheet is in the Narthex. We are discussing a field trip for the May Grace Ladies’ Lunch Bunch; how does the Gregg Museum on the campus of NC State University sound?
Meeting Day Change in May
The May meeting of WELCA will be on May 1st, not the usual second Tuesday of the month. We will resume the old schedule in September. On May 1st we will discuss our annual WELCA Sunday celebration, when, where, and who, and also our annual August Retreat. We need your support! Remember that we select officers for the coming year at our annual retreat.

Things to Ponder
Have you thought any further about the proposed change to the start time of our monthly WELCA meetings? Daytime meetings would work better for an increasing number of members, driving at night being more and more of an issue. Those members or interested parties who are employed still need to deal with availability in the daytime. Your opinion and concerns are sought.
Think about what role you’d like in the upcoming WELCA Sunday – we have many spots to fill in the worship service. April is Child Abuse Prevention Month and May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Education and legal action will solve the former: only love will solve the latter.
