Hymn Sing Sunday – September 3, 2017

Our next Hymn Sing service will be on September 3, and once again you will have a hand in selecting the hymns for worship that day! All of the elements of a traditional service will be present and we will draw on multiple sources for our liturgy.

The difference is that we will sing some parts of the service that are typically spoken (the Creed and Lord’s Prayer, for example), and there will be some hymns chosen by you!

Submit your ideas for the following hymns

Gathering Hymn

Hymns that reflect and relate to the lessons and psalm:

Jeremiah 15: 15-21Psalm 26: 1-8Romans 12: 9-21Matthew 16: 21-28

Hymn of the Day

Communion Hymns

Sending Hymn

All hymns must come from the ELW and you are invited to submit one hymn for each category (no stuffing the ballot box, please!). You may, of course, leave some categories blank.

At GraceFest on September 3rd, I will draw one hymn out of the hymns submitted for each category and those will be the hymn we sing during worship!

Children are invited to submit hymn suggestions, too! Studying the scriptures for the day and trying to find hymns that relate could be a fun family activity.

Additionally, you can put your name in a drawing to spontaneously choose the Hymn of Praise during worship. The entire staff hopes that you enjoy the Hymn-Sing Service and we look forward to seeing what music you choose for worship!
