Affordable housing is a big issue here in Wake County. Grace Lutheran Church has committed to participate in a Habitat for Humanity build every other year. This requires a financial commitment of $7500 prior to the new build sometime in 2020.
Stewardship Focus for Feb 2019
In support of this commitment, in February 2019 our Stewardship focus will be Habitat For Humanity of Wake County. Proceeds from this special offering will be saved to a fund to for future Habitat builds that our congregation will participate in via the Lutheran Coalition for Habitat For Humanity of Wake County.
The Lutheran Coalition for Habitat for Humanity
We hope that our next project will be another Building For Independence Project, in coordination with the Serving Cup and Lutheran Services of the Carolinas.
Several years ago Grace along with The Lutheran Coalition for Habitat For Humanity, Habitat For Humanity of Wake County, The Serving Cup and Lutheran Services for the Carolinas built three group homes, serving nine individuals with disabilities.
If the next project is approved it will likely serve another six people. Your offering will go a long way in supporting our future efforts to provide affordable housing to those in need in our community.Tags: community service, Habitat for Humanity, Lutheran Coalition Habitat House, stewardship
